Yes and no. You can't really shoot off fireworks and have them spell out names; however, you can build a rack that spells out a name and attach fireworks to that. When the fireworks are ignited, the rack lights up like a loud, fizzling, neon sign. One problem -- it cannot shoot up into the sky. The best you can do, I think, it mount the sign high up; but it has to be stationery.

I've seen fireworks make out shapes, like hearts and smiley faces. So I assume they can spell out words too.

You would need a lot of fireworks....and words with a lot of O's.
