I've finally figured out what career path I want to take and now I'm looking at colleges. This may sound really stupid, but are there colleges (besides community types) that allow you to take whatever classes you want and your major without adhering to a required class list?

I ask this because I have a horrible time with math and if I have to take any mandatory classes that involve it (Calculus Trig, etc), I'm in trouble, particularly if the work loads are tremendous. (Effort grades have saved me in high school)

I just want to take classes in English, communications, journalism, as that's what I'll need if I want to pursue a writing career and improve my ability.

Again, sorry if this sounds naive, but my counselor wasn't exactly the best (we lost our original and didn't have a real one) and I just have been trying to figure out what I want to do before thinking of college. Thanks much to all who help, as I'm terrified that my future may be messed up because I suck at mathematics.

In a paper i'm writing, i said this:

spelling check keeps telling me that i'm wrong! i'm talking about more than one publishing...like multiple research papers that have been published.

Recently heard from a friend that this obnoxious mother of a rude pri sch boy accuses the teacher for keeping his exam papers because she suspected that the teacher picked on him for some obvious reasons. The fact was that this boy has a bad filing system and the exam paper was found sandwiched among his worksheets when he got home. This mother didn't even give a word of apology, and the boy didn't even say that he'd found his exam paper, until the teacher queried him. The teacher was pretty fed up and enquired about demanding an apology from this parent thru the Principal but the latter said that parents are like customers and they could not do such things. I'm sure there are many other teachers out there who are facing such similar issues but seems like Ministry Of Education (SG) isn't doing much about the "How to handle problematic/difficult parents" issue faced by most schools.

I've written an essay and it was corrected as wrong article in "a special friend".
Can't understand why.
I've learned to put "a" before consonants and "s" is a consonant and it's pronounced.
It's not like "hour" where the "h" is not pronounced.
