That's a good question. I do that quite a bit myself. Americans (especially girls) will say "like" all the time too. (Like this, like totally that)

it past tense is the very reason some do. "like get over here and get your shoes on already" by saying already at the end of the sentence is expressing your desire to get moving .or you could say get them shoes on and i mean get them on yesterday . same them you want it done now or 5 min ago

Hmmm ... I must hang around a different crowd than you as I've never heard this before. I don't know if your criticism of Americans is justified, but I do know that probably the vast majority of us are aware that the first word of every sentence is capitalized ... or maybe that's just one of those crazy American things!

Most people don't end their sentences with "already". Also, people rarely speak in formal or correct English. That is generally reserved for writing.

Acutally not all Americans end their sentences with Already.. Personally, I begin all of my sentences with Already.. thats why I capitalize it.. Already done that. Already felt that. Already bought it. Already ate one. etc.. Already now, what else do you want to know?

I'm American and I've never, ever, ended my sentences with already, already. I mean really, already!!! If you're going to stereotype and pile people into one category already, then at least have your facts all ready, already!!!! I've never been so offended in all of my life already and I'm a lot older than most people think already GEEZZ, already.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Post Script:
This wasn't already irrelevant until you said it was and you had already made up your mind that it was, so already, I never had a chance did I (already)?

I don't do it. I do have a friend though that always makes her nouns plural....which is really weird, and I always have to correct her because I almost majored in English in college, and it drives me up the wall lol. (Example: Barnes and Noble she prounces Barnes and Nobles...every single time)

That's not all Americans, but I have heard the expression to "hurry up already" It's just an expression.

So who does that already?
Same reason Canadians end their sentences with "Aye"?

It must be a slang term or lazy way of speaking.
