If I'm going to interview someone and there is one typo or misspelled word (obviously spell-checked, but not proofed) in the resume, I pitch it. They won't get another chance. In the graphics field, you cannot afford mistakes like that to get published!

This American government,-what is but a tradition though a recent one, endevoring to trasmit itself unimpared to posterity, but each instant losing some of its integrity? It has not the nitality and force of a single living man; for a single man can bend it to his will. It is sort of wooden gun to the people themselves. But it is not the less necessary for this; for the people must have some complicated machinery or other, and hear its din, to satisfy that idea of government which they have. Governments show this how sucesssfully men can be imposed on, even impose on themselves for their own advantage. It is excellent, we must all allow. Yet this government never of itself furthered any enterprise, but by the alacrity with which it got out its way. it does not keep the country free. It does not settle the West. It does not educate. The character inherent in the American people has done all that has been accomplished.

What does this mean? It's a paragraph in Civil Disobedience.

The Price

With my eyes, I paid
To see you
Wearing a blood-spattered dress
Motioning me to run away with all my might.
Waving,
Warning,
Pointing,
Signaling,
Only to struggle
And be captured.

With my ears, I paid
To hear you
Screaming into the night
Choking on the dusty syllables of my name.
Calling,
Begging,
Pleading,
Praying
Only to be shot
And muted forever.

With my hands, I paid
To feel you
Turning into marble
Dimming like a sickly, dying candle flame.
Trembling,
Shaking,
Slipping,
Shiv ‘ring,
Only to be put out
And rise into the wind.

With your life, you paid
To save me
From life’s harsh injustice
Living life as if it were still the same.
Smiling,
Dancing,
Humming,
Hoping,
Only to be betrayed
By Hitler’s cold game.

Please give any suggestions, as well as things I could mention in my explication. Thanks! :)
