There are actually some much more disturbing and uncontrollable results from alchoholism.
There are certiain neurological disorders associatted with alchoholism.
Dimentia
Nerve damage
Brain Damage
These may sound like common sense but patients have come in with severe dimentia (hallucinations) and certain parts of their bodies no longer have feelings (nerve damage) and are bound to wheelcahirs or walkers...
Some of these people are only in their 40's and havent had a drink in several years.

i dont get the question do you mean what is it like for a teenager to be an alcholic or how does alcholism in the family affect a teenager? well whatever you mean both are bad and if its in the family talk to the teen and see how he feels about it and make sure he knows it runs in the family and also try to fix the problem. and if you want to know if the teen is an alcholic then you should make sure he doesnt drink or hang out with people that drink almost all teenagers drink its just a matter of how responceable they are and how much they do it if he/her is doing it with their friends on the weekends from time to time then they're just doin what all teenagers pretty much do but if its every weekend and during the week and alone then you should find some help for the kid and stop him before he hurts himself or someone else. alcholism is no good for anyone!

I know two guys who graduated from Ivy league schools but became alcoholics when they started drinking at age 19 when they were in their college fraternities. They both have totally destroyed their lives. Now they are hardly more than bums on the street. They each look about 20 years older than the kids they graduated from school with. Their families have abandoned them after they ripped off their wives and kids and lied to their closest friends and relatives over and over.
Alcohol is a disaster! It will wreck your life. It's one of the worst drugs you could ever get involved with.

Alcohol is like a two-edged sword--while being a depressant at times it acts like a stimulant--slowly it kills brain cells--eats ur liver up --makes u insane-and basically kicks ur butt. Only 10% of alcoholics sleep under a bridge and the other 90% can function with there heart and soul in hell.

That's a pretty deep question. Alcohol is bad for everyone, not just teenagers. It eats at your liver, can cause one not to function properly and can/will destroy your relationship with loved ones. Alcoholism is a disease and requires intervention. If you know a teenager that is a alcoholic, please get him/her help. Alcoholics cannot just up and quit. That can kill you! This also can lead to hepatitus.
