Im the mother of a 10 year old who is more driven to go to school to talk to her friends and gossip than learn anything. She came to me today and told me she wants to be a book writer (not an author) or a model when she grows up. when asked why she wanted to be a 'book writer' her response was "Because they dress casual." What can I do to motivate her to want more out of life and to do well in school without always using the 'reward' system... which really doesn't work that well?

I have had my heart set on being a lawyer for many years now. I am a junior in high school and although my grades are not all A's they are respectable. I plan on seriously buckeling down once I get to college. I would love to defend abused women and children. Although I don't know if I want to go to law school RIGHT after I get out of college. Are there any jobs I could get to prepare me for law school someday.
Any other advice?

I need a college student to see if this sounds good. the question is:
"What is the difference between professional ethics and personal values? And what happens when professional ethics and personal values collide?"
I answered: Professional Ethics are a specific set of rules that are either written, or unwritten. It governs specific situations and actions in whatever profession we are in, or perusing. For example: A teacher does not believe in the theory of evolution, but because he is a teacher in that field, he has to teach it because it’s in his lesson plan. Personal values are another set of rules that an individual puts upon himself/herself. It governs specific situations and actions in our personal lives. It helps decide what is right and what is not. For example: The teacher has a doctor’s appointment and must leave in order to assure his health. His personal values tell him that he cannot leave his kids alone. so to solve the problem, he hires a substitute.

Sound good?

At my school they make us wear uniforms, no recess, extra homework, and they treat us like slaves! Yesterday, my teacher gave me a pail of soapy water and a rag and told me to clean her car! I'M NOT JOKING!!!!

I find it extremely difficult to choose, because very often there is a personal uniqueness to what answers are given.
At such times, I read the answers time and time over, and finally choose by gut-feeling.
What, if you would offer, would be your personal method for voting?
