ok i did this then i checked ti and it was wrong. a circular pond is placed on a squre piece of land. the length of a side of the square is 2x. the radius of the pond is x. the part of the square not coverd by the pond will be planted with flowers. what is the area of the region that will be planted with flowers?

BC doesn't seem to mean Before Christ because (in my history books) it says that Jesus was born around 3 BC
and AD means Anno Domini (not after death?)

Why didn't China transition from pictographs to an alphabetic system? Other civilizations used pictographs and later switched to an alphabetic system when they realized that pictographs were too cumbersome. Notably the Sumerian and Nubian civilizations transitioned, but why didn't China?

For school, I have to write an essay on the similarities between two history book ( have to analyze the similarities between the two sources about what they say regarding a particular historical event/person). I was thinking for the paragraph structure, I would organize it as so: introduction, body paragraph 1 (similarity 1), body paragraph 2 (similarity 2), conclusion... But my real question is: how do I introduce the ideas? I don't think it would be very effective if I said something such as: there are many similarities between book 1 and book 2, in the thesis statement.. So, how would I go about introducing the topic in my thesis & the topic sentences?

I just applied to Mercersburg Academy. This is a prestigious private boarding school. The acceptance rate is only 35%. I have excellent grades (last year, my lowest grade was a 97%) I also have family members who have attended (grandpa, great-uncle, and aunt). Do you think I have a good chance of being accepted?
