"Being unable to speak is not the same as having nothing to say." I have always found this to be especially important because my youngest son is severely autistic and non-verbal. Often times people act like he has no opinions, feelings or anything to contribute. This has always infuriated me, he can communicate, it just takes some time to understand since he doesn't have words.
"We must be willing to get rid of the life we've planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us." This is also because of my son...I wish his father could understand this quote (and all the other people who got something that wasn't what they had expected). If they open their hearts to the possibilities they may find wonders and enrichment they never would have otherwise known. It is not the end of the world, just a different path.

When there is freedom from mechanical conditioning, there is simplicity. The classical man is just a bundle of routine, ideas and tradition. If you follow the classical pattern, you are understanding the routine, the tradition, the shadow — you are not understanding yourself.

When my marriage fell apart last summer I heard something on one of my favorite TV shows. The characters are talking about changes in their town and how they hate change. One character finally says..."Change ain't looking for friends. Changes calls the tune we dance to" Since then I added on..."And baby I am going to dance". It helps me to remember that yes my life is changing and I can choose to either sit on the sidelines and be miserable. Or I can choose to dance and have a great time! I also love "Life is a Dance you learn as you go"....so true!
