From this context:

------------------
While definitions of market rate vary, a common benchmark is the rate that local commercial banks pay *on time deposits* of 90 days or more. The MFI should note what benchmark it uses to determine whether a borrowing is at a market rate, and therefore commercial.

I have an index score of 192 for PSAT. I was wondering if that was good enough to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship Program in KY.

I'm a US citizen/Cdn resident enrolled in grade 11 in Canada.
I'm interested in applying to US colleges, but I've only studied one year of foreign language in grade 9 (french), and I do not plan on studying it again (partly because I'd have to go back to studying it as grade 10 french). I meet the minimum/exceed all the academic course requirements for most colleges, except for the foreign language.
Should I be concerned? Would it really matter if I had one year instead of two? I don't exactly have a way to take a foreign language again until next year. If I do take the foreign language, I'd be taking grade 10 french as a grade 12. I want to take more challenging university preparation courses in my grade 12 year.
What should I do? Will I be able to just pass by with one year of foreign language? I'm really worried because most schools I'm looking look for 2 years of foreign language. Are these requirements geared more towards kids in american high schools?

Although the American colonies no longer exist, many of the early governmental developed at that time are still in use today.

Tell me if this persons statement about the word "Arabic" is correct...

Here is what someone said in reference to someone else referring to an Arab person as a Arabic person:

"Arabic" is an adjective referring specifically to literature of the Arab people, not a noun referring to someone of Arabian descent. You don't call Arabian people "Arabics", you call them "Arabs".

So he is saying that the word Arabic can only be used as an adjective describing a language and can not be used to decribe a person. Is he right? If he is wrong, please explain why. Thanks!

I would like to look at qualifying for secondary school teaching. I have wasted my youth so far and need some direction. I'm getting married later this year and want to have a proper career. Only thing holding me back is that I dropped out of college (dumb, I know) but I do have plenty of GCSEs. I'm only 22 so age isn't an issue. I'm thinking about going on evening courses as I can't afford to leave my job just yet!! I live in Surrey, does anyone have any advice on colleges, courses and timescales involved?

A 48-inch board is to be cut into three pieces so that the second piece is 3 times as long as the first piece and the third piece is 4 times as long as the first piece. If x represents the length of the first piece, find the lengths of all three pieces.
