Your problem is simple (but it is an international problem esp. to Learners of English as a Second Language). The main improvement or learning of a language is to practice it. The old adage (proverb/saying) "Practice makes perfect" is true. Don't look for sites. The best way to improve is read (first of all) and write (most important). Reading is easy it's writing that poses the problem since there's no one to correct your misspellings. One way to do that is correspond via e-mail or letters. Corresponding is a sure way to get u improved and teach you new expressions. Reading is also a good way. Try reading something easy and something you like.
You can also buy books of proverbs. That way you can impress everyone with the way you're familiar with English. I did that and I'm trying to use what I learn with my friends, whether chatting on the phone, on the internet or through emails and letterwriting.
There's something else, writing on the computer on word (and clicking on the feature which helps you in writing and spelling) can enhance your way of writing English. Here too you can learn so by clicking on the Check Spelling icon.
Do that and be sure that this is the surest way to learn and improve your English Language (which happens to be MY SECOND language so what about you who has it as your mother tongue?)
Good Luck
sarah

Read books and newspapers written in English. Watch English movies. Try to meet people who speak English and have frequent conversations with them. The internet is the worst place to learn English. You already write better than most of the people on this site who would claim English as their first language. You are doing a good job. Have fun learning.

One of the best ways to learn English is through your local library. By participating in their reading to children courses. I found this a great way to help my communication skills as well as reading to children which helped my confidence and build up my english skills. Besides which kids don't know or care if you make a mistake you jusy correct yourself and move on. The librarians are a great help too.

The easiest way nowadays:
Go and catch some DVDs.
They have some more sound layers than your mother's language. Listen to them. Even if you do not understand the whole thing, you improve step by step.

I don't know if it's free, but try a night school or a recreation center. There has to be somewhere. Also, search it on google, and it could help.
