First, I would solve the parenthesis, so you have:
(5x+10)/4=4x-2

Next, I would multiply both sides of the equation by 4, giving you 5x+10=16x-8

Next, subtract 5x from each side, leaving 10=11x-8, then add 8 to both sides, giving you 18=11x, then divide by 11,
x=1 7/11 or 1.636363636363636363

ok, here's the easiest way to solve it, first you multiply both sides per 4

5(x+2)/4*4=4*(4x-2)

since 4/4=1 then

5(x+2)=4*(4x-2)

now you opperate

5x + 10 = 16x -8

and you substract 5x from both sides

5x + 10 - 5x = 16x - 8 - 5x

and you get

10 = 11x - 8

now you add 8 to both sides

10 + 8 = 11x - 8 + 8

and you get

18 = 11x

and now you divide both sides by 11

18/11 = 11x/11

so x = 18/11

hope this helps.
