How can teachers effectively teach while discipline problems occur daily in the classroom? Although parents are called, that doesn't always end the situation. I know it begins at home, but when there are no rules at home and the parents don't really care what happens at school, then how can the teachers make a difference?

According to my Teaching Reading class, phonics is very important for teaching students to read. A large part of the class focused on the importance of students understanding that words were a combination of letters, which represented sounds.

As a future special education teacher, it is possible that I will be responsible for teaching students who are Deaf or Hearing Impaired to read. I am just wondering how the process would differ for this population, as they are unable to hear the phonetic link. Clearly they are capable of learning, but how would a teacher best facilitate this skill?

Thank you for your time.

Hi all! Serious comments from adults over 25 years of age please. I am a stay at home mom, my kids are 10 and 6 1/2 years old and go to school full time. I am working at the kids school as a lunch room supervisor and working at the local community cnetre teaching kindergym classes. I have been accepted to college to study to become an Educational Assistant and start January 12th. i work about 10 hours a week and my husband is Rudely asking me to get a "real job". We are struggling financially, but the EA job would pay $22.13 per hour once done. Am I being selfish by wanting to go to school or should I give up my dream and work at a Tim Horton's donut type job that I hate for the rest of my life?

I wrote this article, if you guys want to kill the time, check it.

During my time at high school, I had a friend named Mark who was so smart that he always took the first place in every exam. However, Mark liked to show off and pretended that he put forth no efforts to get the first place. He always told us that he prepared not much before the exam, but we all knew that he always stayed up and studied all through the night for a couple of days before the exam. As I knew, almost students in the class secretly hated him because of his pride and conceitedness. Mark didn't know he became an eyesore until the day he showed off again after exam. A strong guy beat him and swore at him; at the same time, Mark screamed out for help, but all I saw is everyone on the scene hailed for joy and aggravated the situation. Anyway, this fight ended up in teacher's stop. Ever since then, Mark still did the way he liked, but he was ostracized by other classmates.
