I am leaving in less than a month to study abroad in South Africa. I have heard that on occasion lions wander into the city where I will live. If I should see a lion wandering about, does anyone know what to do? Especially if it should walk up to me?

Thank you!

My son attended a private preschool and Pre-K program before entering public kindergarten this year. The curriculum is remedial compared to what he learned in Pre-K. He came into kindergarden reading and now he's bringing home colored macaroni necklaces and tracing the alphabet on a sheet of paper. As a result, he's been disrupting class by making gross noises and using "potty" words (poop, butt, etc.) He's getting in trouble nearly every day for this. I'm planning to talk to his teacher about transferring him to a class that will possibly be more challenging for him. For those who have gone this route, was it successful? Or should I put him back in private school?
Thanks in advance!

I just find this strange, isn't "ask" always spelled the same everywhere? I can't imagine teachers teaching students that this is the right way to say it.

I have always wondered why they don't have lots of high school classes that train kids for really good jobs, and have classes like collage classes so kids could go from high school into good jobs. I think of computer assisted drafting, word processing, programming, nursing assitant, and many others. What does a high school education prepare you to be in terms of getting a job that pays well?

I am thinking in my son's future education. He is 3 years old. I am seriously thinking in homeschooling him. The reasons: avoid the atmosphere of public schools. I will be able to control of what he is learning. Flexibility schedule. However, what about the social life? Would clubs, piano classes, sports be enough to develop his social skills? Could anyone that have experienced this situation advise me, please? It sound like a simple an easy question but it is not when you are thinking about your child's future and what's the best for him. He is the only one btw.

Thanks a lot

Kim
