college algebra was sooo easy. i got a 110% in the class and never turned in any homework. i got 100% on ever exam we had. but then i transfered schools and the new college i went to wouldnt accept the course because they said its too easy.

so just be careful about that if you ever transfer

I almost gave you the wrong answer. Back when I was in undergrad, a Algebra course in College would probably have been about Group Theory, Ring Theory etc (which wouldn't really tend to apply to Statistics), or maybe some Linear Algebra. I was surprised to find out what that phase means, now, when I did a Google search under the term. It is what was covered in high school algebra, back when I was a high school student. Even Introductory Statistics, on the other hand, has Calculus as one of its prerequisites, or should. Unless the Statistics course has been seriously watered down, do not, please do not take it until you've learned the basic techniques of Algebra. How are you going to learn and understand the material when you can't even follow the proofs in the book?

You have to be careful taking an algebra class at a university -- because there are a few levels.

Most universities have algebra courses that are intended to be taken before a Calculas class is taken. They are sometimes called "Intermediate Algebra" or "Advanced Algebra" or even "Precalculas." They are intended for students with weak high school backgrounds in math. Some state universities even have a zero credit algebra course that is, essentially, a repeat of 11th grade algebra. None of these classes should be too difficult for anyone who has been exposed to High School algebra.

The reason why you need to be careful is that there are also advanced courses in algebra that are taken by math majors or even graduate students. Thes often have names like "Linear Algebra" or "Modermn Algebra" or "Topics in Algebra." Look at the course guides to make sure that you take the right one.
