You are exactly right. People nowadays have so little vocabulary that they are forced to intersperse their communications with many unneccessary and offensive obsceneties. In particular it is the lack of adjectives which leads them to do this. A green tree, a large tree, a holly tree, a dead tree are all more acceptable instead of a f***ing tree. But because so many people have limited education in communicating with one another they have to fall back on the gutter to express themselves. Don't accept it or change your own style. Ask what colour was the car that nearly ran you over? How big were the kids who killed your hamster? What does a Macdonald's Cheeseburger really taste like?

In Quebec, 'tabernacle' and 'chalice' are considered vulgarities, akin to f*** and s***, etc.

There used to be a quote that if you give a thousand monkeys typewriters, they will eventually crank out the complete works of Shakespeare.

Thankfully, with the advent of the internet, we now know that is not true.

Basically, give people the opportunity to mask their identity, give them a voice and let them say what they want, they will, with wreckless abandon. For those kinds of people, it's a victimless crime. However, for those who care, it's quite off-putting.

I agree with you - there was a time where Yahoo chat was a good place to actually talk to people who knew what they were talking about (i.e. computer programming). Now it's full of pre-pubescents boasting about who knows what.

Oh well. There's only so much we can do.

Hi mr closed mind I'm betting you are American. First of all f.uck fits in all contexts. Then depending on what country you live in will have an affect on the amount of use this wonderful word generates in ones daily usage. Example Irish have a very colourful use of the English language and articulate it very well.

It has to do with hidden identity. If anybody makes use of their suitable names/photos without anonymity they'd all be lots extra polite! in basic terms is going to coach that human beings are cowards, even regardless of the indisputable fact that it could remember on the question as nicely. For e.g., i definitely hate the cultures/communities section, because of the fact the questions there have lots extra to do with ranting, rude feedback than particularly questions concerning to way of existence.

People are so anxious to answer and the comfort that they can say what they would like to say (or write) w/o being judge. I don't think no one ever thought this was meant to be school

There is a tendency in some areas of the world to celebrate ignorance, narcissism and plain insolence. The fact that these traits find their way onto Yahoo Answers should be of no surprise to anyone. What is surprising to me is the fact that there is a certain level of tolerance and acceptance of this behavior.

These are the shortcomings of a liberal society.

It could be that the education level and the vocabulary level allow them no other options to express themselves. By using language that they experience in their home lives, they are expressing themselves in a way they know they will be heard. It is possible that they do not have the background knowledge and vocabulary to respond in another way.
