An A1 is equal to a level 3 NVQ. You are working up towards a degree, and need to do teaching qualifications next.

Mainly it is at a supervisory level equal to NVQ 3 and managerial.
A1 assessors are likely to be quite busy after next year when the CSCS system becomes mandatory.

A1 Nvq Assessor Award

It took me about six months to complete the A1 course (although I was allowed up to a year). There were two days in college as an introduction to the assessment process, then I had to arrange assessments with two students, covering three units from their NVQs, one of which was observed by my assessor. It was quite easy really, contact your local college to find out costs etc.
