If you're looking for a fact or need some info. to answer Yahoo Answers - people often resort to cut & pasting extracts of Wikipedia (I may have even done it....).

As it's open to anybody to edit, I think people should treat some the 'facts' in Wikipedia with caution.

Just how accurate do you think it is & have you seen anything blatantly inaccurate or biased?

In writing business documents, I often have to write about a generic customer of unknown gender, and so I have sentences like:
"If in doubt of x, the staff member should consult his/her manager. (S)he should continue once the task has been clarified."

If find the his/her/(s)he stuff very clumsy and distracting for the reader - I'm tempted to write something like this instead:
"If in doubt of x, the staff member should consult their manager. They should continue once the task has been clarified."

It's obviously grammatically incorrect, but seems to be the way one might say it informally.

How good/bad is it to use "they/their" as a singular in business writing?

what's a good title for this metaphor poem that i wrote?

Christmas is a summer day
In the middle of winter.
Its warmth spreads throughout families,
And throughout the hearts of loved ones it does enter.

The cheerful spirit of Christmas
Is a little elf dancing in my heart.
Seeing all the relatives I have missed,
The memories will never part.

P.S. Could you also maybe correct my poem?
