i am writing a metaphor poem, in each stanza, do you have to write the same number of lines? like for my poem, could i do 4 lines then 2 lines then 2 lines? or does it have to be 4 line 4 lines or 2 lines 2 ines 2 lines 2 lines? i really need help

Unless you have been told by your teacher that your poem had to be a certain format, you can do whatever you want. If you want to do a pattern of lines per stanza, that is nice, but not at all necessary unless you were told to do so. There are no solid rules for poetry, unless you are sticking to a particular form. But again, if your teacher said "three stanzas, four lines each, then you should do what was instructed of you...if no instructions were given like that, then do what feels right for the poem!
