Poor English Grammar "WHAT" are the causes of a bad education? would have been much more appropriate for this question. The word " Which" would indicate that you are giving a choice of a few possible causes. Now to deal with the word "the" in your question. Which one is "the" bad education? Can you be more specific? My bad education, or yours? I would tend to think that questions such as this will get a great deal of wise cracking answers. Now ask me which are the causes of the wise cracking answer.
