help my 3 yr old to write?

anyone no any sites were i can print of letters then my daughter can draw around them to practice her writing you know dotted letters

may i add, she is showing signs of writing and they are doing such things at school. and when i say writing i mean basics not full blown sentences i aint think

i mean thick lol

at 4 years old my father used to put a pencil in my hand, grab hold of my hand and write words whilst the pencil was in my hand. That is a bit more hands on than you are willing to give.

You don't need a site you just need to get blank paper and washable crayons. Use the fatter crayons it's easier for her little hands to grasp.
Make your own dots and have her trace it to get the letter. Make sure you make it fun. Where she will want to do it again. Work on one letter at a time. Lets say you do the letter A make it an A day. Where she will trace the a But at the same time you point out to her all the A letters that in your house. Make Applesauce her snack. Make up little song for the letters. Its going to be an A day!!
You don't want her overwhelmed so she will want to learn and do more the next day. The It's going to be a B day!

When children begin to write its important they draw circles and straight lines, they don't necessarily have to form perfect letters. As she is only three I wouldn't be concerned. Of course it cant hurt to start the letters now.
Also dot-to-dot letters are not so good for an early learner, as your child. They are too fine for her to follow with accuracy, possibly causing frustration. Its better to start with 'bubble letters' and ask her to write in the middle, this is easier and so she succeeds and has a positive experience. Try these;

I agree with some of the answers which say she is probably not ready yet for formal writing . Give her thick crayons and paper and give her plenty of chances to "scribble " . Wait another year before you try to help her form the letters and better to wait till she shows some interest . Dont force it . That will do more damage than good . She will get plenty of practice at school with proper guidence from the teachers who will be keen to give you tips on how to help her at home when she is ready .

Partners the stationers do writing books, big pads that have the letters in in dotted line form and then pages where the lines allow you to get the height of letters right. They're really good, used them with my sons. They also do a big sponge thing to put round pencils to help kids hold pencil properly.

First of all she is only three and unless she has been showing signs of wanting to write, writing her name is not developmentally appropriate. Can she hold a pencil or crayon using the pincer grip? Can she draw lines or circles? Does she know the letters in her name? These things must come first for her to learn to do these things appropriately. Most children crawl before they walk or suck before they chew......writing has a process. If you skip some of the process you may hurt her ability to write properly. Research and watch your child for cues as to what she is ready and capable of doing.

Use the Window Desk Top Publisher and write the numbers out in a nice big basic font like 'Verdana" or "Arial Round Bold" at 64 point or something around that. You can have it any colour you like too!

Little children don't have the dexterity to write at that age!

In the UK our children are rushed into learning but we have a low percentage of children going to universities than in other European countries!

She is only 3!!! Let her be a kid, concentrate on her gross motor skills - running, climbing etc and leave the fine motor skills till later. Why are we all in such a hurry to turn children into mini adults?

well dot the whole alphabet a to z then let here trace them after that see how she does then if she starts getting it start dotting words like cat and dog and if you keep soing that for a while you will she how she has improved when i was young my mother did that to me and at the age of 5 i was one of the best spellers in my whole school district including 5th grade.
