I have 9 gsces (a-c) and went straight to work after that. Just been made redundant and wondering what to do with my life. Not looking to go back to work anytime soon, and been doing nothing the last 8 months!
I've always wanted to go university and think i should use the free time I have now to achieve this. I have about £30,000 in savings,not sure if this willl be enough for the 3 year course. How do i get myself into an american university, preferably in a big town like ny,california, chicago,san fran etc. i
Can i support myself by working part time as well if the savings arent sufficient?
Will it be harder to do this as I'm 30 so will be a mature student, ie getting accepted for a course and fitting in?
I have about 6 years experience as working in IT (Programmer) and maybe looking at doing a course in Internet marketing or something like that.
I assume I'll have to do some kind of foundation course or something due to my lack of formal qualifications?
How difficult to get a visa?

Ok, This seems kind of weird, but I was wondering what Guey means in Spanish. My boyfriend says it all the time to his friends. I asked him what it meant becuase he says it at the end of every sentence. I asked him and he told me that its bad if you don't know the person, but its ok to say it to friend. That it means someone whose girlfriend is cheating on them and the do nothing about it??? Its not that important I was just curious. thanks

I need advice/an opinion. When I first started high school I lost two people of whom I was very close to. I became very depressed. I started to refuse to go to school on-and-off regularly. It was the biggest mistake of my life. this carried on for two years. No-one helped me. my parents then sent me to a private schoo, and lied to the head tecaher saying that I wasn't behind in my schholwork..when I was..seriously behind.... I found I couldn't keep up with the work..by the end of the year I couldn't cope anymore and because I didn't know what to do...refused to go to school altogether.(this was the end of my third year in high school) I was then at home with 3 measly hours of home tuition in only Englah and art....for the next 2 years. I got G grades in my GCSEs (apart from English) what I need to know is.....when I was at the end of my 3rd year and then went to ahve home tuition...how could I have fixed the situation then/ what could I have done? I didn't have a clue how I could have caught up/what I should have done to fix the situation at this point. WHAT SHOULD I HAVE DONE BACK THEN? HOW COULD I HAVE FIXED THINGS? PLEASE HELP AS THIS IS IMPORTANT TO ME. Could I somehow have caught up if my parents had been able to arrange proper home education/tuition for me?(starting again with year7/first high school year work) and then taking 5 years to catch up before I sat my GCSEs?(so I would have been taking my GCSEs about now) or would this not have worked? If not...then why?
also...how could this home education have been arranged/organised?? Since my parents wouldn't have had a clue how to structure this?
Can anyone provide me with any answers? please don't say that it doesn't matter anymore...because it really does to me...and it would help me to sort my head out if I knew the answers to these things.

I am applying a few good schools and would like to make the best impression possible. Are there any good pointers on what I should add? Any cliches I should avoid? Also, some schools require that I already pick a concentration and write which professors I would like to work with. Does this really matter as far as me getting in? Will picking something that most people want to work on such as US or European history make me less likely to get in? Thanks

I have to build a polyhedron for my geomtry class, all the lenghts and angles have to be correct, so i was wondering do all the angles inside a pentagon add up to somthing, if so what? If you don't know what i'm talking, i'm talking about how on triangles if you add all the angles together you get 180 and with sqaures you get 360.
