You need to get good enough grades to get into a decent college. Doesn't mean Ivy league but make sure it's a good University/College. That may mean you need AP classes, honors classes.
You need a bachelors degree (BA, BS, etc) to get into medical school to begin with and you'll need to take at minimum a year of bio, general chem, organic chem, physics, and English. Usually math and psych are also required, but can depend on the school. You don't have to major in biology or premed but you will take more classes with topics that will repeat in medical school and that will help you out. It is not necessary though. You grades need to be good.
You also need to take the MCAT to get into medical school. It's a day long test with 3 sections phys/general chem, writing, biology/organic chem. It's not about passing the MCAT, there is no passing grade (like the SAT) but a high score is important.
You also need to have extracurriculars, and some of them in a medical field. You need to be able to show the interviewers/admission committee you know what you're getting into and it's what you really want.
It's a lot to think about if you are still in high school. I'd suggest considering undergrad schools with a strong pre-med program but pick a school where you will be happy and will do well first. Try volunteering at the hospital or something else medically related to see how it fits you.
Medical school is hard, and the tests require you to think at a much higher level than probably has ever been demanded of you. They don't want to accept people who are going to fail out, hence why there are ALL those requirements!

the truth is it is hard, many don't get into until there 3rd year of applying. as corny as it might sound you need to have passion because the admissions committee has a way of seeing right through you. they also are looking for very well rounded people and many have the stereotype that med schools want you to be a science major, have great MCATs, be an EMT and work at a nursing home but the admissions committee sees thousands of applicants that have THAT SAME application and so its hard for them to determine who did the extracurriculars that they did because they are obsessed with science, from those applicants who only did those extracturriclars because the thought it would make them look good. 80% of applicants are qualified, but only 30% can get in...its all about the extracurriculars and what seperates you from the crowd and that is a fact that soooo many pre-med students don't even consider. some will turn you down even when you think you have the perfect application, but it often involves state residency and other mini factors that they will pick up on that you might have never imagined. they don't expect you to be flawless by no means but they have a min amount of people to accept and if all their applicants are perfect, there going to have to turn down somebody! many of those people who didnt get accepted didnt really want to be there. it's hard to get into..but by no means impossible...you just have to want it more than anything else. hope i helped ;)

the admission to med school is highly competitive. requirements is to fulfill lots of biology courses, chemistry, physics...get a bachelors degree in biology... or in the social sciences or humanities and at the same time attend a junior college and take the biology/chem/physics to fulfill those requirements. While in college, volunteer at the hospital or get a job as an EMT, medical assistant, pharmacy technician, lab technician for experiences. Hope this helps.
