It's called english class in America but is it called japanese class in Japan or something to that effect?

It's basically translated as "English Class" in most of the countries (there be some that don't call it that, but I am not aware of any). My daughter is studying in Chile right now, and her class is translated as simply: English Class. Hope this helps.

In all countries if you were taking a class on the English language, it would be called English Class (translated, of course). Just as lessons in French are called "French Class" or lessons in the German language would be called "German Class".

I would think that it's called English because if you take French here in America, it would be called French class or French. In Poland it's called English (angielski).

It's called Kelas Bahasa Inggeris in Indonesia, Brunei and Malaysia. English class in US, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea.....dont know what's it called in other countries.

maybe it's called "Literature," because that's what "English" class is in the U.S.

they basically teach you basic english and grammar nothing too deep or difficult...
