Our son has moderate autism. He is attends a specialized, non-public class (paid for by the district as they had no other placements that could meet his needs). The program in a 12 month program, with 10 days off when public school gets out for summer and an additional 10 days off before the regualr school year starts. The problem is, there are no daycare options for my son. We have looked into a few, but none of the regular centers have experienced personel and the ones for special needs kids are full and very exspensive. My question is...can my son qualify for SSI now??? If anyone has any experience with filing...no matter the outcome...I would love to hear it. Thanks so much.
