can you help me what is suppose to find in this lab?

This lab is about free fall
in this lab I need
2.5 meters of string
5 weights(washers,nuts)
meter strick

Objective:
Attach the weight to the string in a such a way that when dropped the weight hit the ground 0.1s apart.

i tried I couldn't find please help me10 points.

tie the washers to the string, measure the spaces between the washers and drop...and repeat till you get it right..isn't gravity's acceleration 9.8m/s2 that might be a little helpful...
