Many Colonists felt it justified. The Crown appointed their Governors and Magistrates, they had no recourse to address wrongs. Taxes were levied indiscriminately. And the greatest complaint was Taxation Without Representation.
The English Army answered only to Governors and the Officers could commandeer food, horses, and lodgings from the Colonists without payment.
There were other complaints, but the latter were the main grievances.
