What the heck is a postulate? And if you know how would you answer a question that says:

State the postulate that can be used to show each statement is true.

a proposition that requires no proof, being self-evident, or that is for a specific purpose assumed true, and that is used in the proof of other propositions; axiom.

It sounds like you have a list of postulates in your book, or maybe they are just stated here and there. They are only asking you which of these makes the statement you are talking about true. For example, you should have a postulate about isosceles triangles. It will says something like "The interior base angles of an isosceles triangle are equal". Then, your problem may say something like, "angle a is equal (or congruent) to angle b", and angle a and angle b will be the base angles of an isoscles triangle. Now, they just want you to state the postulate that I started out telling you about saying that their statement was true. Oh, and by the way, I love geometry. Don't give up!

a statement that is assumed to be true because people (like the authors of your book) consider it obvious. Postulates can be used as the starting point to prove more complicated statements, called theorems.

a hypothesis advanced as an essential presupposition, condition, or premise of a train of reasoning. now don't u have a smart friend who can help u. and explain it to u in simple laymen terms, if not, maybe u should take some other course if u can't get the hang of it.
