I homeschool my children and would like to join a support group. My problem is is that all the support groups that I find are religion based. I am thinking of joining them even though I am Agnostic. My only concern is that I do not want to be preached to. I know they are good people, but sometimes they seem not to be able to help themselves.

i dont get it, an offcr caled me on phone to tell me that i havan arrest warrent, but they told me that i have to show to an appointment to them nex week with my parents (since i'm only 16y/o)
the reason is because i had a nasty attendace at school last year

i keep thinking if i go; i'm just gonna go to get arrested or get my parents in trouble (the oficer just called me right now so mi parents no know yet), should i go or not????

When I was a guest parent at one of my son's kindergarten classes one of the kids told the teacher, "So and So said a bad word." The teacher responded with, "Don't be a tattletale." Later I heard her say, "Keep your mind on yourself" to another child. I talked to my wife and she said it is getting to be common. She says it helps keep order in the classroom.
My thing is are kids not going to tell when something really dangerous happens, like a kid is standing on top of a play structure. Or if kids are making fun of another kid. How are kids going to know when to tell and when not to tell?

I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings


A free bird leaps on the back of the wind
and floats downstream till the current ends
and dips his wing in the orange suns rays and dares to claim the sky.

But a bird that stalks down his narrow cage
can seldom see through his bars of rage
his wings are clipped and his feet are tied so he opens his throat to sing.

The caged bird sings with a fearful trill
of things unknown but longed for still
and his tune is heard on the distant hill
for the caged bird sings of freedom.

The free bird thinks of another breeze
and the trade winds soft through the sighing trees
and the fat worms waiting on a dawn-bright lawn and he names the sky his own.

But a caged bird stands on the grave of dreams
his shadow shouts on a nightmare scream
