It's a "ghostly" double. Not usually considered evil, but sometimes prone to mischief.

It is the ghostly double of a living person, often is used not as a demon or a ghost but for somebody who looks just like you. Like if I saw somebody who looked like you I would say "hay that your doppleganger."
