Education & Reference - 21 July 2006

I'm hoping to start teaching in the fall, and have a great background in my subject matter (social studies), but I have no experience teaching (I'm currently going to school to get my master's in education though). Can anyone recommend any good books that I might find helpful and informative for new teachers? THANKS!

I rememer seeing these short films back in elementary ( mid 70's)
In the "Red Balloon", this boy would chase the balloon and it kind of took him on an adventure through his town, same thing with "The Magic Sneakers", no one was wearing them but they ran all over the place. Every time I mention these movies, nobody's ever seen or heard of them. I hope I wasnt imagining things !!!!

In India, i know that they are banning it or delaying it in some places. Doesn't that just make people curious as to it actually being true? If the catholic church was like go watch it, its an entertainer, but its not true then it goes to show that there is nothing to hide and it is just fiction. Instead they ban it and it makes you believe it when and if you see it. I really liked the book and though it was highly believable, i know that it is fiction even though i am not catholic. If the catholics themselves believe it then sorry to say, but they don't seem to know very much about their own religion. It is a good movie, so go check it out and see it with an open mind.

I have enrolled in college and have recieved finaical aid, and I will be getting money back but I wont recieve the money until the fourth week of college. Unfortunately I need the money now, so I can keep my car and pay for babysitting costs. So I will need a short term loan until my finacial aid comes in at the end of September.
