susan has crazy tendancy that slows her down - she takes one step backward for every two she takes forward. How many steps will it take susan to get from the bedroom to the bathroom, which is twenty paces?

If paces means that a "normal" person would get there in 20 steps, then if she steps into the bathroom it is 56 steps. If she just stops at the door then it is 55 steps. Providing the first step is outside the bedroom door.

Ohh! Now I read the other explainations, and I deem the 60 pace one correct. A backward pace is still a pace, all the same.

20 steps minus 10 steps gets her half way there so the answer is 20 steps. Unless you count the ones backwards, then it is 40 steps.
