Pen for most things, but pencil for math

my daughter has found that lead pencils are the best choice, dont have to worry about sharpening and the pencil breaking all the time. the lead is with you all the time.
and the lead is better, that you can erase. pens are harder to erase mistakes.

I've always written in pen, but I got in trouble for it (especially in math). But, usually I solved all my math problems in my head and would get points taken off for not working it out on my paper anyway, so it didn't really matter.

I don't think it matters. But Math should ALWAYS be done in pencil.
