Need an explanation to his phrase people found funny....?

A comedian said his joke was "postmodern misogny, steeped in irony", individually i know what each of those word means, but collectively that makes no sense. Why were ppl laughing, it was not funny, or they just like the way it sounded.

did you know you "pass over or pass on" mean to pass away too?

pass away is usually the more common term to mean "to die"but
pass over and pass on are also correct.I like using the language in different ways and sometimes I use these terms too.
