i just recently graduated from college and i did take at least one night class each semester for my last two years and one semester i think i had two or three. i actually liked taking night classes. they meet once a week instead of two or three so it's over all at once which means you have a week to get the work done for the next class. it also frees up your day time for studying or whatever. i found i got more work done during the day and was able to get to bed earlier at night because i got a lot done before my night class so i had time to go out or sleep after class. it was great actually, but it all comes down to what your personal preferences are. make sure it is a class you can stand to be in for three hours at a time.

I like to think of night classes as a necessary evil. Usually (though not always) a night class takes a course that's been designed around a normal schedule (1 hour time slots three times a week or 1.5 hour time slots two times a week) and turns it into a 3-4 hour class one night a week. Sometimes a night class may be the only way to fit a class into your schedule, but like any other class, the main factors that determine whether a class is "good" or not are the course content and the professor.

I took one second semester jr year because I had too many labs scheduled during the days to actually find time for a day course to meet. My experience with night class was he was more reading intensive. There was absolutely no slacking off allowed. Other people have had different experiences. The hard part is sitting there for 3 hrs and paying attention the whole time. The upside was we didn't have an in-class midterm.

Yes, they are a good idea. I've taken a night class for personal interest's sake. The reason I took it at night was so that I could stay at home with my children during the day and then my husband could stay home with them during the evening... no guilt at taking the class... kids were well taken care of. You should try it... there are a lot of special interest classes out there.. not just academic type classes.

Night classes are for people who want to further their education, but have jobs. Don't get me wrong, you don't HAVE to work to take night classes. I don't work, I'm a stay at home mom. But I take night classes because my husband works full time. I don't have a babysitter. Therefore I have to wait till he gets home from work to go to school. Which is in the evening!

Night classes are typically an option for students who work during the days. If you have nothing else to do, a night class can fill your time. I wouldn't do it though as an undergrad unless you have to. You may not want to go as the semester goes on...

Night classes are fine to take. Often, they are geared toward working adults who are continuing their education, but they are perfectly fine to take.
