There aren't that many differences between them. There was even a scandal a few years ago where a Hooters trainer basically encouraged prostitution. I went to one a couple weeks ago, hated the food, and didn't like the mentality of the waitresses there. It's definitely gave me a strip club vibe, I would not ever want my daughter, if I had one, working there. While I'm definitely not gay, I just don't like Hooters for the food or the waitresses.

I never thought I would. Thought it would just be too weird, because there's all these couples and groups eating in there together. But I have been going solo lately to keep my spirits up when my son goes to stay with his Dad.

I always refuse to eat at the bar so I've found the waiters/waitresses seem to make themselves more "readily available" or are much kinder to you if you're eating there alone. It's probably because they're hoping for a good tip ~ and it works ~ if someone makes me feel better, I'll put a little extra in their pocket.

Just wondered if anyone else has noticed this, or if you ever felt strange about dining out alone. Happy Weekend!

I think a big part of it is complacency. Restaurant owners build a good client base and then figure their clients will stay around even if they start serving crap.

i'm a server at a pretty upscale country club and have worked there for about 2 and half years now. but i'm confused on what the purpose of baseplates/chargers are and who started it. there really isnt a purpose and most guests think that they eat off of it (which is gross since we clean them with windex).

My girlfriend LOVES PF Changs, we went their on our first date, and tomarrow is her 21'st b-day, I want to take her somewhere nice, but she is REALLY picky.

PF Changs isnt a bad idea for her birthday, is it? I mean its a very nice restaurant, pretty pricey, but not the most romantic of places..

I need a girls opinion.. I figured she would like it due to it was where we went on our 1st date..

I NEED HELP! :)

At a average normal restaurant like Friendly's, Applebee's, Denny's, etc. Or a pub?
Do people usually leave something nice? Or should I just go for a different job that I don't have to worry about the tips!

I would have to say it's Hot Pot. What is it, is they put a huge pot of broth in the middle of the table. And from there, you basically cook your own food in the pot; you make your own sauce, and dip the various meats, and greens in the sauce.

I think it's Chinese.

Would you go into a restaurant and order something to eat if you didn't have anyone with you? Or, would you just go home and have a bowl of cereal or something?

If you did go out to eat by yourself, would you insist on a table in the corner, in the back? Or would you feel confident enough to sit at a table for 2 in the center of the room?

Would you dawdle over your coffee afterwards, or pay the bill and get out of there as fast as you possibly can?

As for me, I go out alone fairly often, and enjoy it very much. I had a friend who would never go into a place alone, even if she was half starved & couldn't go home for hours.

My cousin is trying to figure out the name of a good restaurant. She says that she sometimes gets it confused with Bob Evans, it has a long name like three words or something, that it might start with an "S", it serves breakfast all day, it has columns in the front and looks like it has two stories, it is a casual sit down restaurant, it has yellow siding and a red roof, etc. Not all of these things are necessarily true, but what restaurant fits this description the best?

Do you hate kids' birthdays where they go into restaurants, celebrate their birthday and eat a cake that they bought from wherever the **** they got it from while people are eating delicious gourmet food right in front of them singing 'Happy Birthday'? Makes no sence, do it at your homes kids, I mean why do they MUST go to a restaurant? Because they serve them when you could've just set one up at your own house and leave people alone or do you just want a coke from the god damn place? Jesus..

Alright, I have been working at this job for about a year and 3 months. So far Ive only gotten one raise. (A quarter more). Its at a restauraunt, so theres many jobs that I have learned. 1.) I can line cook. 2.) I can prep everything. 3.) I operate the take out area. 4.) I can do dishes even on crazy busy nights. 5.) I can sort of operate the pizza bakers end. 6.) I am working 37 hours a week and I am supposed to be part time, plus I go to school full time.

I make 7.50 an hour.
