Alright, I have been working at this job for about a year and 3 months. So far Ive only gotten one raise. (A quarter more). Its at a restauraunt, so theres many jobs that I have learned. 1.) I can line cook. 2.) I can prep everything. 3.) I operate the take out area. 4.) I can do dishes even on crazy busy nights. 5.) I can sort of operate the pizza bakers end. 6.) I am working 37 hours a week and I am supposed to be part time, plus I go to school full time.

I make 7.50 an hour.

As a former Human Resource Manager, I used to always tell my people that you are only as good as you think you are. Restaurant businesses often provide the extra quarter per hour when they have good workers. Why don't you request a meeting with your Supervisor/manager and ask if you think a raise is in order. Tell him/her what you've just told us - pump up all the good things you have learned - but the real catch in this is how long have you been doing those jobs? Also, they seem to be working you just enough hours so you cannot claim to be 'full time' (I hate that) If you are not satisfied with your results - make sure you keep that door open for other opportunities. The next time, make sure you ASK how much and how often can you expect a raise...good luck to you. Show off and talk up your skills!

Sometimes restaurants can only give raises at certain times of the fiscal year. Maybe that's the case. Ask when your next review is and when or if you'll be eligible for a raise. If you don't get reviews, schedule a time that you can talk to your manager and tell him how much you've grown in your knowledge and skill level. If he/she doesn't seem to agree remain open and ask them how they feel about your job performance. After all it really only matters what they think about you...they're the ones giving the raises.

Sounds like you're doing a good job. It never hurts to ask. You did say you already received a raise though and you have only been there three months. If you are unsure of their reaction, I would wait till the six month, and then again once you have been there a year.
Keep up the good work, and good luck!

You are being taken advantage of. Ask politely for a raise. If they won't give it to you, find another job if you can, and you have the time. Good Luck!
