I eat alone all the time. If I want to eat out and can't find someone to share the experience, why should that stop me.

Good for you! Yes, I've eaten alone many times, my husband would be at work and most of my family lives out of state. It was kinda odd at first, but I came to enjoy it. I could observe folks, write a poem, just relax and have no responsibilites at that moment, etc.
I got very good service too, once I could tell the girl kinda felt sorry for me. I have been a waitress also and I was especially nice to people alone because I had been on that side too. I never knew why they were alone, but I wanted to make their dining a pleasant experience. Have a great weekend too!

I eat out by myself quite often. I have never felt awkward doing so. I usually bring a book or newspaper with me and try to get a table with natural light.
Because I have reading material, I generally don't want a lot of attention from the waitstaff. Bring me a menu, water, take my order, bring my food and be accessible if I want to ask for something and you'll earn a decent tip. Smile and act like you're happy to have me for a customer, bus the table when I'm done eating and keep my water full and you'll get a larger tip!
Happy weekend to you too!

I've started doing this as well but I started sitting at the bar instead of at a table. The bartender gets chatty and sometimes other people do, too. I usually bring a notebook with me (I'm a writer) to keep myself occupied if no one is around or willing to be socially engaged with me.
It's too bad women are still made to feel odd about going out to dinner or sitting at a bar alone--but what is the alternative for many of us-sitting alone at home. I try to put my awkwardness about this aside once a week and just go somewhere where I feel comfortable.

I would endorse that you make yourself 5 lunches for the following week. Put aside some time on the weekend to head browsing and buy foods that can be reduce up and put into plastic containers and readily carried to tuition with you. Carrots, celery, or perhaps a small salad may also be readily constant. Which you could put together lasagna, pasta, cheese, and so on. Yogurt may also be bought in large containers and put into smaller plastic ones. What ever you prefer to consume. In case your cafeteria has a microwave that you can warmness it up there. Also purchase a small cooler you can depart on your vehicle. For ice put water in bottled water containers. Fill them up leaving a couple of inches of house on the high. Freeze them, and then position them throughout the cooler. That way as they soften it'll incorporate the water and now not get your food all delicate. For those who take only a few hours to reduce and prepare your food for the following week it'll be handy to put those items on your cooler on your means out the door. Bon appetite!

It does feel weird. I usually sit at the bar when I am by myself so i can talk with the employees. Makes life much less awkward. One time I even ended up sharing my chips and salsa with the waitress during her break!

It shows that you have a certain confidence in yourself that most people would die for. I dine solo all the time and it feels sort of like a therapeutic thing. But not everyone can do it
