Dining Out - January 2007

I'm looking for some good places to eat in Vegas that are baby friendly. I want to avoid the run of the mill franchise places. Something "local" that serves good food. The last time I was in Vegas I ate at a place called "Batista's Hole in the Wall" and loved it.

When will restuarants and fast food companies learn that serving sizes today are just too big? Don't they understand that by making serving sizes over twice what they should be they are sabotoging the health of our nation. In addition, they are contributing to mass waste of food as most normal people can never finish a full serving of food at any restuarant. Why can't they just offer half portions at half the cost? It would save food, make customers happy and help heal the obese epidemic that has a stronghold on our nation. Why do they insist on fattening us up or telling us to just throw the rest away. I for one am about to boycott resturants for this reason. Who's with me?

One time, high school - 33 years ago, we gave a tip all in pennies and put it in the water glasses and turned the glasses over - was that awful for really bad service?

have to sort through 100 lb bags of pinto beans, to pick out all of the rocks before they were pressure cooked and whipped up? They also used to have to shredd the lettuce and cheese blocks and, they deep fried all of the corn tortillas for tacos, and flour tortillas for Crispa's.

Did anyone know this?
