My husband and I are going to LV. I'd like to surprise him and take him to dine on the best steak in LV. Opinions please!

Best Value - Ellis Island (on Koval Lane)

It's not a fancy place at all. Service is okay. But, by far, it's the best value (of any sort) in the entire city. Ten ounce filet-cut sirloin with veggie, baked tater, soup or salad. $4.95. Walk thru the casino to their restaurant. Oh, their restaurants' name is just 'restaurant' nothing else. It's a unique experience. But, you'll be eating a steak dinner that would normally go for $20 to $25 on the strip.

Best Steak Overall - Delmonico's (at the Venetian)

We're talking the best of everything. PRIME grade beef. Fabulous Service. Usually the watiers have no more than one (maybe 2) tables. They really really take care of you here. Emeril Lagasse owns it. The dining room is simple, but very nice. Huge wine list (with a ton of em avail by the glass). They are also open for lunch. Might be an idea... the dress code is a little more relaxed, etc.

For two - you can expect to get in and out for around $100 to $115. ((( entree, side, soup, one drink ))). It's like a lot of the fine steakhouses here in town, everything is a la carte... so you need to PIECE your meal together.

Tell your guy to order the ribeye. AMAZING !!!!!

Anyhow, the way i see it... if you're paying over $120 (for 2 people) for a steakhouse... the extra $$$ is just going for 'fluff and frill'. You could of course hit PRIME (at the bellagio), but you're looking at a place that's more dificult to get into reservation wise.... the service is 'fair'.... and we're talking nearly 2 hours to get thru your meal (sigh). I'm not saying you should be rushed---but c'mon!!

Other notable choices:
The Palm (caesars - in the forum shops)
Mesa Grill (caesars)
Commanders Palace (trying to remember what resort), but, amazing service & a lot of seafood also available.
The Steakhouse at Circus Circus. The CC is a dump, but for some reason, their steakhouse right in the middle of circus acts, strollers, ugly kids, and gosh knows what else............ they have a gem of a steakhouse. Nice, quiet, good service.

Circus Circus has (surprisingly) a really good steakhouse. It's also reasonably priced, so you can spend your money on something fun (like a Hummer tour of the desert!)
