My TV sais it is capable of 1080p (maximum resolution) but when watching HD channels, I press the status and it sais 1080i

I have tried the phone number they provide and doing it over the internet, butn nothing works.. I have heard people from Arizonia. Can't CA get in on it also? Please answer as soon as posible as this is a weeklu night game show. Thank you, delilahmoody2@sbcglobal.net

I have Comcast Cable box, TIVO series2, and VCR. Yeasterday I bought 50" Maxent HD monitor(2composite s-video inputs/2component video inputs/audio output/RGB input/2Digital HDMI input/RS-232 connector). I know TIVO series2 does NOT work for HDTV. However, I do not want to spend $700 for series3. I just liked TIVO service that I can stock so many program in hard disk, and want to delete anytime. I also liked I can record program in the future. Is there cheaper DVR or anything like TIVO does? My budget is around $300 to $399 I want to spend. Please!!

I love my Tivo (Series 2) but I don't see the need to keep the service as I record everything based on time and channel. I talked with a Tivo Customer Service rep a while back and he said that the Tivo would stop recording shows if I didn't continue to subscribe to their monthly service. I think he was lying to me so that I would continue to use the service. I wanted to see if anyone has a Tivo and uses it successfully without the monthly service? Does not getting the service updates cause the Tivo to stop working?

Its a 40 hour series 2 Tivo. I took it apart to clean and i see its a
regular maxtor internal desktop hard drive, Im wondering if it has to
be formated, If it does how would you do it.
I have formatted hard drives for my desktop but this i dont know.

Should I go buy a Tivo? I currently have a dish network DVR box. If I buy a tivo box can I give me dish box back, or do I need both boxes to use tivo? Is tivo that much better than a standard DVR box? I was hoping it would be cheaper to have tivo than pay for a dish box in the long run. Any help would be appreciated.

I recieved a DVD Recorder for Christmas. I have tuned it in and can recieve Sky, BBC1, 2, ITV, Ch4 & my VCR. I recieve a stereo signal on all of them except Sky & VCR they are in mono. I have been told that a fully wired gold plated scart cable should solve this problem. Can anyone give me anymore advice?
