Yes it's addicting. Thats why a lot of cable companies give you a free trial. The best is to start a show you love watching 20 minutes after the official start time. That way you can forward through all the commercials and still end at the same time. Also slowing down a replay during a football game or pausing a game show to go to the bathroom is great!

Yes, and no. Don't get TiVo brand they don't offer a lifetime membership and it is completely over-priced, but get a different brand of DVR, or a PC with "Microsoft Windows Media Center Edition". It has a built in DVR.

I looked into Tivo and there was a subscription fee involved. So I opted to add a DVR (digital video recorder) to my cable service. I was already subscribing to Comcast Digital Cable. So I only needed to exchange my set-top digital cable converter at the Comcast office. I'm now renting a DVR from Comcast and it's $10 per month more than renting the digital cable converter box.
I find it well worth the money!

TiVo is the same thing as a DVR. My wife and I couldn't live without it. Record the programs that you want and watch them at your leisure. What could be bad about that?

Absolutely. Love it. Expecially if you have kids and they won't let you watch anything during the day. Then you can watch after they go to bed. Or always have something Tivoed for your kids to watch. Fast forward through commercials. Pause live TV. Rewind. I recommend it to anyone.

I don't have it yet but we are waiting for the ?receivers? to get it started. I go to school full time and am a little out of the loop on some of the new T.V. shows. I think its pretty neat to be able to record your shows and watch later.

I almost cried when mine broke and I was going to be without it for a few weeks while it was being fixed. I jumped for joy when it finally came home.

yes, yes, yes. especially if you work on off shift, like midnights. you never have to remember to program it or put a tape in before you leave the house. also great if you have children, if they interrupt just pause or rewind it.
