hahha you nailed it! It's so addictive. I can't miss my TV shows anymore because there is no reason to. It's the greatest invention of this decade/era/century....

Extremely Addictive. Television alone has had people sitting on their couches for hours at a time but this new invention has made the TV watching population skyrocket, I mean think about it would you rather stay home and watch "Lost" and miss the BBQ, or go to the BBQ, then come home and watch Lost. Obviously the answer is simple. TIVo/DVR has certainly increased the average time spent watching television by a good amount.

Television alone is addictive, what more is Tivo/DVR where you can preprogram, save, and interact with your favourite shows. It would be better if you have some discretion in using it.
It's not the gadgets however that makes them addicting, however, it's your attitude on using them makes it addictive.
