I recieved a DVD Recorder for Christmas. I have tuned it in and can recieve Sky, BBC1, 2, ITV, Ch4 & my VCR. I recieve a stereo signal on all of them except Sky & VCR they are in mono. I have been told that a fully wired gold plated scart cable should solve this problem. Can anyone give me anymore advice?
Thanks in advance
Cowboy.

If you have 'tuned' it in, then you appear to have an aerial lead linking your 3 devices which is why you are not getting Sky and your VCR in Stereo. YES! you will need to connect both the vcr and Sky box with SCART leads to the AV1/2 inputs or whatever they are designated to get a stereo signal to the DVD recorder. The cable doesn't need to be gold plated or anything fancy, you can always upgrade that later.

Before you buy anything,

Check your scart plug ends and make sure that the pins are all ok and then make sure that the scart plugs are pushed in fully to the TV, VCR, Sky box, Freeview box and DVD recorder etc.

Sometimes the scart leads 'sag' slightly and the connection is not fully made.

If you get stereo on some but not on others, then a cable won't fix the mono signal from one source (which obviously is only in mono. And I don't care if it's platinum plated)
I am assuming of course that ALL the signals are coming across the same cable(s)!

in case you get the device with the VHS outfitted in you do not might desire to connect the two mutually. in case you get the machines with out the VHS outfitted in you do get extra effective opportunities of machines for the main area. relies upon on how a lot you prefer to spend. yet specific, the better priced and extra reliable machines don't have the VHS unit outfitted in. Connecting the VHS to the DVD recorder is a controversy of connecting the video and audio outputs of the VHS device to the video and audio inputs of the DVD recorder (yellow to yellow, white to white and crimson to crimson) with RCA cable connections.
