Thinking about ditching cable and or DISH for a nice HD antenna for free TV. I however would still like to record shows, but have no DVR. I understand a PC tuner card could act like a DVR. What one would your recommend, and do you know of some free software that would allow me to set recording of certain shows at certain times?

I read where some of the LCD tv's don't have audio output jacks. SO...what do I do? I want an LCD but I am out of the loop as far as this stuff is concerned I guess what I need to know is am I going to be able to buy this tv, hook up my stuff that I have now and watch tv, or am I going to have to buy a bunch of extra junk just to make it work? I don't want to spend a million dollars. I am in need of help!!!

My Dish DVR is getting old. How do I get a new one for free? When I call Dish they say they will charge me for a new one. Has anyone ever threatened to cancel their Dish service over their DVR and Dish agreed to give you a new one?

I signed up with DISH in January and have been very disappointed and have a way out of my contract and want to switch, but I looked at Directv's site and it looks much more expensive than I remember! For some reason, I remember the 140 channel package to be only a little bit more than the 100 channel package with DISH. Anyone know if this actually happened, or of a way that I can get the 140 channel package for $35-40/mo?

You have everything you need, you just have a hard time telling the difference. Is it subtle?

What to look for when watching the following shows on HD

House
Big Love
Bones
Psych
any animal show
any food show
any fashion show
any travel show

Please no sexist comments or you'll be reported.

What are some things to compare with?

Hi, I just bought the HP Tv Tuner and it works fine. I was wondering if you can specify which channels go on the TV? The only channel I want is this channel called The N (120 on my cable). It doesn't come on automatically, is there a way to get/order this channel or a way to transfer/get it from my tv? Thanks in advance. And sorry if any of that was confusing. I've tried looking at the HP help, but I didn't find anything about changing channels.m

And what happens if you play a Blueray DVD on a HD player and visa versa? Reason I ask is I work at a electronics store and people ask. Getting complicated again, you think?

I have digital cable and only have one digital reciever. My computer has a SMRT capture TV tuner card. I can get regular cable on the computer but I can't get the digital channels. Is there a program to decode the digital signal or do I need another device to do the job?

When in the record mode it stops and jumps into "loading" then resumes recording. Does it need cleaning or do I need to use a new dvd. I use DVD-RW discs but don't know how many times they can be used.
