I am interested in buying a DVD recorder to replace my VCR. A few questions...
#1. If I have digital cable (with a receiver), will I only be able to watch the program I am recording?
#2. What types of DVDs will it play?
#3. Would it make sense to use the recorder as my primary DVD player?

If you do, what is your dish like, do you live in a house or apt, and how did they put the dish up?? B/c they just came out to put up a new HD dish and he says he can't do it b/c i weighs like 40 lbs and is twice the size of our current regular direct tv dish??? We live in an apt. and he was like " we don't put those up in apts" soooo like WTF!!! Now my husband is pissed b/c the only reason we were going to get HD is b/c we just got a 42 in plasma, and he's like well whats the point of having an expensive tv if we can't get hd?!?!? What do you guys think????

I was curious to ask a owner of a pioneer inno portable xm reciever as to where you position the antenna for the home kit, I live in a condo on a upper floor and want to make sure there are no complications as to positioning the antenna being that I have screens and have no access to a outside wall.
