I was curious to ask a owner of a pioneer inno portable xm reciever as to where you position the antenna for the home kit, I live in a condo on a upper floor and want to make sure there are no complications as to positioning the antenna being that I have screens and have no access to a outside wall. Thank you.

That depends on where you live, although I notice your username is Ohio1973, so I'm going to assume that's where you'll be listening from. The XM satellite signal comes from two satellites over the equator, one at 85 degrees west, and another at 115 degrees west. 85 degrees would be south-southwest from Ohio and 115 would be southwest from Ohio. If you have a clear view to that direction from one of your windows that'd be your best bet. If you live in a decently sized city, you may have terrestrial reception from a local repeater. The direction for that would be dependant on what direction the repeater is in relation to you. They're typically located in downtown cores so that's where I would start.

Remember that XM radios have signal meters built in and when you buy them, they are not activated. I'd take one home and see if I got an acceptable signal indoors. If yes, then activate, if you find out it just won't work out for you no matter where you put it, then return it to the store you got it from within their return period (usually 30 days) for a full refund. The preview channel works even when the radio is not activated so it's great for testing out reception.
