ok open itunes if you have already installed it.
next put in a CD of your choice in the CD drive thing.
then let Itunes recognize it and when it does in the upper right hand corner of itunes it should say "Import CD" click it.
after it has imported all the songs into your library in itunes hook your ipod to your computer and sync the library to your ipod unless it does it for you.
hope this helps.,

I have an ipod Nano, but I'd guess it's pretty much the same for everything.
1. Insert CD
2. Bring up your iTunes library
3. To the far left there should be a column that says things like STORE, SHARED, etc. There will also be a section that says DEVICES or something similar. Your CD will be under there, and so will your ipod if it's plugged into the computer.
4.Rip the songs manually, or your iTunes will do it automatically sometimes.
5.What I do is create play lists for certain categories of music and simply drag the songs to the play list I want them in.
6. Once that's done, your ipod may automatically sync.
7. If not, click on it under DEVICES and go to the Music Tab.
8. Sync it there and the CD songs are now on your ipod.
I had to load a buttload of CDs to my ipod and it took about five days, but it's very easy once you get the hang of it.

Put the CD in the CD-ROM drive. Open iTunes. Click "import CD". Wait for it to download to your computer. Plug iPod into USB drive. iTunes will automatically load the CD music on to it.
