When the furnace blower turns on, some kind of voltage spike jolts my electronic devices, and causes all these problems: my wi-fi connection gets reset, my USB mouse turns off and reconnects, my coaxial digital audio connection to my receiver loses sync and reconnects. I want to fix the problem and not just the symptoms - so is there anything I can do besides getting filtered surge protectors?

No matter what CD i put in there, the machine ejects it and it reads No Disk on the display. These are regular CDs. I can take the player apart. What do I look for? I don't want to have to throw this away or pay for a technician to look at it. Thanks.

I put in a DVD for my grandma to watch, and supposedly the DVD was stuck on a scene and kept repeating ( I wasn't at home when this happend), but when I got home my DVD player will not open or close when I pushed the eject button, and the power will turn itself off automatically. How do I fix this? I have never had problems like this before with the DVD player. What can I do?

Hello. I have a Dishnetwork receiver with a coax output. I'm going to purchase a new PC and will like to have one display for both PC and TV. My first choice (which I dont know exactly how) is to find a computer monitor that has a coax input so this way I can use it independantly of the pc. My second choice is, if the computer has a tv tuner card, will it work with the satellite? the tuner shouldnt tune, just simply process the signal to show on the screen. Any suggestions on particular products, adapters, modulators(RF in reverse) etc...??? PLEASE HELP!!!

For some time now we have been putting up with scrambled picture, (like a broken jigsaw puzzle) also the sound breaks up. Of late it has happened regularly, but not on all channels. For this we pay £21.a month. I also have an additional setup in the bedroom for which I paid a one off £20. This one is seldom effected, I can get the same channel on both and only one is faulty. The first was setup by Sky about six years ago, which I have replaced the digi box, and resited the dish when I built the extention some four years ago. The second, I set up last year on a seperate dish and box. Weather was my first thought, but then why only one? We have unpluged the box and removed and replaced the card, and it may work for a while, but not this evening, it's OK now but fails intermittently.
Is it the lanb unit on the dish, the box or the card? though we have tried the card in both. Please help I don't want to replace the wrong part.
Thank you.

Computers are advanceing almost every six months. Ipods advance every year. We spend way to much money just trying to be up to date so we won't be left behind.

My partner and I have a cabin in a small town along the Washington coast, about a 3-hour drive from Seattle. We like to listen to the Seattle NPR affiliate (KUOW 94.9) but when we reach the coast the reception for this station fizzles out and blurs with another local station. Is there any way to get the KUOW signal without subscribing to satellite radio? Will installing an outdoor antenna guarantee reception? We bought a cheap indoor antenna but it seems to pull in the local station rather than the Seattle one.

I have a strange little habit (compulsion) of *having* to switch empty sockets off (even if I'm in a public place, much to the embarassment of my company). So, I'm just wondering if I can justify my oddness by also satisfying the knowledge that I may be helping to save the environment?

If it does save energy/electricity, does anyone know the quantative data?
