I am thinking of going to buy an iPod today, but I want to know something first... I have songs I have d/led from sources other than iTunes, but have them transferred into my iTunes library. Will I be able to put these on an iPod, or do they only play songs purchased from iTunes?

A friend of mine in Ukraine asked from me to buy him new battery for his video ipod. He told me to get "BAT4GC." I have found the product online, but it seems to be only for ipod photo. Do you know if this battery is also good for ipod video?

My friend has the ipod nano and i have the video ipod. I was looking at hers and noticed on her main menu, that she has a search option for her songs. I updated mine today and earlier itunes said there was another version to update it to, but i figured it already did it automatically. I checked my ipod & it doesn't have the search thing. Does anyone have it on their ipods?

I am trying to restore an ipod, my computer is connected to the internet, and I can even access the Itunes store, but when I try to push the restore button, it says that the ipod cannot be restored because there is no internet connection. What can I do?

I like listening to music while I shoot the basketball around in the driveway. I have the Ipod 30gb now but it is to heavy and has had enough already from falling out of my pocket. I wanted to get a Nano but its to expensive ($200 for 1,000 songs) so i was wondering if someone could reccommend me a small, good quality mp3 player that is at a decent price. Thanks

my daughter wants an ipod for her birthday but i'm having trouble affording one. while checking into them i found mp3 players and some other kind of music down loading thing. i know nothing about these things but i would like to get her what she wants. i don't know if it has to be a ipod or if she just wants music that she can download, all she told me was that she wanted a screen on it she could read. what would be the easiest and most useful for a 16 year old. i would like to keep it under 150.00 if possible but that probably wont happen. someone please help, her birthday is soon-like tomorrow!

my zen keeps freezing, i've only had it since christmas and has frozen several times since then, but now it has frozen whilst its off, and it wont turn on, because its not turned on i cant let the battery run out to charge it again! PLZ HELP!!

I clicked on a song and it just froze before it even reached the screen it usually is on. I tried flipping the on and off button.
Didn't work.
I tried holding the play/pause button and the middle button.
Didn't work.
What do I do now?

I am trying to memorize a poetry deconstrction for tomorrow, and I wish to listen to a recording of it while I sleep. Is it safe for me to do that? Will it damage my ears? What volume level is safe to listen too? I will be using standard iPod earphones. Is there a time limit I should listen to it for? Many question I know, I just dont want to risk ear damage. I'm moving from the U.S. to Germany this year and would like to know if I can still charge and download through a German computer. Same for my digital camera. I'm aware that outlets are different and can fry whatever you try to use, but the computers might be the same?? Any ideas?

I am getting really frustrated with this. What has been happening is when I rate songs on my iPod itself, then try to sync it with my pc, sometimes iTunes overwrites the iPod, and therefore the same songs I have just rated are now showing up on my iPod and on iTunes as not rated. Perhaps this is just some setting I need to change, but when I listen to 200 songs, rate them all, and then nothing happens, it is really frustrating. What I want is to rate them, sync with iTunes, and then I want my pc to also reflect the new ratings, or changes I've made. Any ideas would be really helpful.
