Ok I am looking to buy a device that I can play mp3s. The big thing would be to be able to get my own music on it from my laptop (I have tons of songs lol). But it would be nice to have the option of "buying th music " for it. I go to the gym so it would be nice to bring it along and bounce around with it without problems. I don't care much for storing photos and watching videos. Fm radio would be nice. I have read so much about ipods, creative zen, this and that blah blah blah. So what should I get?

To avoid future hearing loss, I know that we should only listen to iPod at 50% of the volume at most when using earphones (and only up to 45 minutes per day).

If you live in a city, it's very difficult to follow this guideline. I find that at half volume, I can barely hear the music if I'm walking on the street, riding the bus or taking the subway (when I'm most likely in the mood for listening to iPod). There is so much noise in the city that my iPod is virtually useless when I follow the safety guidline.

Even on a Sunday night, somehow, there is still enough noise outside to make the listening experience less than perfect.

I'd like to clear up some space on my pc and Get all the music from my PC's itunes onto the itunes on my laptop. Is it possible just using the ipod? I'd really rather not have to burn all that stuff onto disks, email it or get an external harddrive. Also is there a way to put music on my ipod from someone else's itunes without having it delete my whole list? I heard something about changing the settings to manual but I have no idea what that means. Help me out here, somebody?

If I plug in my TV or games console the right channel is awful, the left seems OK. I've experienced this on two separate amp units, the one I have now is a JVC A-GX2 (quite old by the looks of it) The CD input works perfectly from the same TV/games console source. Any insights? Is it faulty or am I just not using it correctly?

I ripped some cds a few years ago to my pc and they were saves as wma files. I burned them to a disc and they don't play in my mp3 player because they are the wrong format. I don't have the cd's anymore because they have been lost or destroyed by my kids. I did try to download a program from the internet to convert them, but it didn't work because the files are protected or something. Any advise?
